Alzheimer Disease Association Memory Walk 2010

The main objectives are to create greater awareness of dementia in conjunction with the Health Promotion Board’s Dementia Awareness Campaign 2010 and to commemorate Alzheimer Disease Association 20th Anniversary. The Memory Walk start with an umbrella mass exercise workout, followed by a walk (about 3km). After the walk, the participants can look forward to other fringe activities like health screening, information on dementia, stage performances as well as participating in carnival games. The cause of dementia may not have been well understood yet but certain risk factors that have been identified include cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes and smoking. Recent evidence links mental health to physical health. Some simple ways of reducing the risks of dementia is to maintain a healthy lifestyle by having a balanced diet as well as staying mentally, physically and socially active. Look forward for the next Memory Walk in 2011. Feel free to share the video, your comment, feedback and rating are welcome.
